Enjoying our parks and public lands is how thousands of Americans, including myself, are introduced to wilderness and grow to love it. The Parks Project sells merchandise, works with artists, and raises funds for partner nonprofits like the National Park Foundation and Yellowstone Forever. Its products are also made in more sustainably run facilities than some apparel makers.

All the Parks Project apparel at Huckberry is 25 percent off through December 2. Alternatively, you can also buy your loved one a Parks Pass or donate directly to the National Park Foundation in their name. Being outside is also a great way to socialize while staying socially distant!

Cotopaxi’s Tarak Del Día Backpack Uses Repurposed Fabric ($70, $30 off)

Cotopaxi

I am a huge fan of Cotopaxi. This bag and apparel manufacturer’s motto is “Do Good,” and it seems to be doing a lot better at that than most. One percent of its profits go towards grants and nonprofits in six focus countries to address poverty and community development. Cotopaxi’s Del Día collection is made using leftover scraps from other companies’ production runs. Each worker gets to choose and put together one-of-a-kind bags that are eye-catching, and most importantly, incredibly versatile, durable, and light.

The Tarak Del Día is one of my favorite light, fast backpacks that can be customized for a hike or a quick trip into the city, by either adding or removing a foam frame sheet, compression straps, or hip belt. But if you can wait until Cyber Monday, Cotopaxi will throw a Luzon Del Día in with the purchase of its Fuego down jackets and vests, which will also be 30 percent off. (Sizes are very limited right now, but I also love the Libre sweater, which keeps my arms warm but has a breathable back panel for hiking. skiing, or biking in the cold.)
