Heathrow celebrated a cracking Easter getaway as millions of passengers jetted off.
The airport said yesterday that it handled more than 6.2m passengers in March – 1m more than in February.
And, in a sign the Easter holidays were particularly busy, the final day of March was one of the airport’s busiest days since 2019 as schools broke up and families went away.

Some 221,606 passengers travelled through Heathrow on March 31 alone.
The airport insisted ‘service levels were excellent’ despite strikes.
Heathrow chief executive John Holland-Kaye, who is stepping down this year, said: ‘I am very proud of the way that colleagues have pulled together to ensure passengers got away smoothly on their Easter holidays.’
