But what about Wetherspoons? We explain everything you need to know below.

Will Wetherspoons be open over Easter?

Wetherspoons pubs’ opening hours vary from boozer to boozer so it’s always worth checking ahead to see if your local will be open.

You can do this by using the chain’s locator tool on its website, or you can always pick up the phone and call.

We checked out the opening hours of several Wetherspoons pubs online and they are all open over Easter, including Easter Sunday.

For example, the Corn Exchange Wetherspoons in Leicester is open from 8am through to 1am from Friday through to Monday.

It’s worth noting opening hours can change, so it’s best to call ahead and double-check.

What are other businesses doing?

Tesco

Tesco said all its larger stores in England, Wales and Northern Ireland will be closed on Easter Sunday.

Meanwhile, branches in Scotland will open as per normal Sunday trading hours and the majority of all Express stores will be open.

On Easter Monday, many large stores will operate reduced hours while Express shops will be open as usual.

Meanwhile, on Good Friday, stores that normally stay open until late will close at 10pm.

To make sure you’re covered, you should use Tesco’s branch locator which will tell you opening hours for your nearest outlet.

You can also use the locator to check what time Tesco petrol stations will be open too.

B&Q

B&Q will be open as usual until 8pm, with stores opening at either 7am or 8am across the UK.

They will be shut on Easter Sunday in EnglandWales and Northern Ireland, in line with the ruling by the UK government.

Stores which are over 280 square metres must close on this day, and as B&Q stores are generally very large, they fall into this bracket.

The only other holiday that shops in these countries must close is Christmas Day.

Stores in Jersey will be closed on Good Friday.

Scottish B&Q stores will remain open as the country doesn’t have any trading restrictions.

It’s best to check on the local store finder on the company’s website in order to make sure that your favoured shop is open to avoid disappointment.

It is still possible to order online, but your items will not arrive on Easter Sunday.

IKEA

All Ikea stores in England and Wales will be closed on Easter Sunday.

The majority will also open, but with restricted hours, on Good Friday and Easter Monday.

For example, Gateshead is open 10am to 7pm on both these bank holidays – but you should check individual stores before visiting.

Use the store locator on the website to avoid a wasted trip.
