Iceland now sells Greggs festive bakes in stores

ICELAND shoppers can once again get festive bakes by Greggs at the supermarket.

The frozen food specialist is selling two-packs of the popular festive pastries for £2 – which works out at just £1 per bake.

In comparison, Greggs is typically selling them for £1.60 each, meaning the bake-at-home version works out cheaper than the bakery chain.

Shoppers can pick up a 316g pack of the savoury snacks from Iceland and simply cook from frozen in 30 minutes to enjoy at home.

The bake is made up of chicken breast, sage and onion stuffing and sweetcured bacon in a sage and cranberry sauce, all encased in puff pastry.

The treats landed on Iceland store shelves on November 23, but they can be ordered on its website for home delivery too.

Iceland offers free home delivery, but keep in mind you have to spend a minimum of £35 to place an order.

The bakes are available as long as stocks last at Iceland, so it’s best to be quick if you don’t want to miss out.

The frozen pastries are pretty much identical to the fresh ones you can find at Greggs, and contain the same 453 calories per bake.

An adult man should eat around 2,500 calories a day while it’s 2,000 for a women, according to NHS guidelines.

Iceland has stocked Greggs’ festive bakes for the past few years, and it’s no surprise that they’re back by popular demand this Christmas.

They’re sold exclusively at Iceland, so you’ll have to shop at the supermarket to get your hands on them.

Greggs branches remain open during the national lockdown in England, but only for takeaway, click and collect or delivery options.

The hospitality industry, including restaurants, cafes and pubs, has been forced to shut for dine-in until December 2.

Apart from the festive bake, Greggs’ Christmas menu for 2020 includes a pigs in blanket baguette and a salted caramel latte.

While Starbucks Christmas menu 2020 includes a gravy layer sandwich and truffle hot chocolate.

Last month, the cafe chain also released details about its Christmas food menu, which includes a lobster toastie and After Eight muffin.
