INCREDIBLE lottery secrets have been revealed including winners’ chances of a new romance and who was most likely to get a divorce.

The revelations come from research conducted in Sweden that analysed human behaviour after hitting the jackpot in the lotto.

Following a big win, eternal happiness was expected but the study showed there were also potential drawbacks – including splitting with your partner.

The report looked at 500,000 past lottery winners in Sweden.

According to statistics from the National Bureau of Economic Research, winners’ lives were greatly impacted after scooping large.

It found men and women were equally likely to experience an increase in happiness after winning the lottery.

However, female lottery winners were more likely to seek divorce than their male counterparts.

Women were also likely to experience a decrease in life satisfaction.

Conversely, husbands statistically stood by their wives following a win of more than £72,000.

When it came to finding love post win, one sex was luckier than the other.

Single men were 30 per cent more likely to find a soulmate within five years of receiving the windfall.

Researchers explained the spike in divorces was caused by the money, which subsequently gave women more confidence and autonomy to step away.

They also showed couples who stayed together after a lottery win were more likely to continue well into the future.
