That’s when Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) is now scheduled to take place.

Apple will use the event to showcase the latest on its software: iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS and tvOS.

That means you’ll find out about some of the biggest new features coming to your iPhone in a free iOS update later this year.

Apple typically shows off the year’s big iOS update in June at WWDC, before releasing it to millions of iPhone owners around the world in September.

The iPhone maker is expected to host a special keynote event on June 5.

You can watch it on a livestream via your web browser for free.

This is where Apple fans will find out what new iPhone features they’ll be getting for free later in the year.

“WWDC is one of our favourite times of the year at Apple because it’s an opportunity to connect both online and in person with the talented developers from around the globe who make this community so extraordinary,” Apple VP Susan Prescott said.

“WWDC23 is going to be our biggest and most exciting yet, and we can’t wait to see many of you online and in person at this very special event!”

Apple says that the conference itself is an online format with sessions and virtual labs.

But some lucky attendees will be invite to watch the keynote presentation on the opening day.

This year we’re expecting to see iOS 17, which will likely be made available as a “beta test” shortly after WWDC.

This will give app makers – and eventually fans – a chance to try out iOS 17 before its official release.

The public beta test is free to join, so you can enjoy the latest iPhone hacks ahead of time.

Then we’d expect the general iOS 17 release to land in September, around the time of the expected iPhone 15 launch.

But Apple won’t confirm those specific details for months.
