HOLIDAYMAKERS are adding tomato sauce to duty-free fags and booze on their lists of things to bring home from abroad.

The UK’s cost of living crisis has seen the price of Heinz ketchup soar to £4 for large bottles.

But the same popular condiment is only £2.50 in Turkey, with smaller 342g bottles just £1.

And they are not the only bargains on offer abroad.

Nutella 400g pots cost £2 in stores in Turkey, compared to £4 here.

Craig Harker, away on a break in Marmaris, shared a snap of the cut-price ketchup on a foodie Facebook account.

He posted on his Dad Loves Food page: “Turkey ketchup prices.

“Their own branded tomato sauce is less than £1 while Heinz comes in at just over £1 and £2.50 for a bigger bottle!”

One member said: “Forget the wine and cigs, just bring ketchup back from Turkey.”

Another added: “Gonna be bringing back ketchup instead of ’baccy on my next holiday . . .”
