MORRISONS is one of the biggest supermarket chains in the UK, and there’s plenty of bargains to be had.

The retailer often runs special discounts on its products and recently has been offering customers a Mother’s Day afternoon deal too.

But there are some things you’ll want to keep an eye out for on a regular basis.

With inflation in January at 10.1% meaning the cost of everyday essentials is much higher, you’ll want to get savvy shopping fast too.

Here are some of the things to always buy at Morrisons and the things to avoid.

Morrisons Savers

Savers is Morrisons’ own-brand range and features over 240 products.

Customers can get everything from toilet rolls to fish fingers, and marmalade to garlic baguettes. Prices start from just 25p too.

Remember to compare an item to other supermarkets’ own brand products as well though.

You can use websites like trolley.co.uk to see if you can get something cheaper elsewhere.

Wonky veg

Morrisons, like lots of other supermarkets, runs a wonky veg scheme where customers can get misshapen fruit and veg for less.

Most of the time there’s no drop off in quality either.

Shoppers can buy a £3 box for delivery while the £5 box contains enough fresh veg to feed a family of four for five days.

So if you’re not fussed about how your fresh produce looks, you could save yourself a few pounds.

Magic bags

Morrisons works in partnership with the Too Good to Go app, which distributes surplus food for cheap.

It means you can reserve “Magic Bags” for £3.09 when the products inside are worth £10.

You can get everything from fresh fruit and veg, to milk, cheese, bread and baked goods.

You just have to download the Too Good to Go app, search for your local Morrisons store and reserve your Magic Bag.

You can then collect it at an allotted time.

Baby and back to school bargains

Morrisons regularly holds baby sale events throughout the year, where customers can pick up baby clothing, toys, nappies and more.

Plus, it runs back to school deals where parents can pick up shirts, trousers and skirts for as little as £3.50.

What things should I avoid at Morrisons?

If you are a die-hard Morrisons fan you’ll want to pick up the supermarket’s Savers Range products.

But you might actually save money buying your own-brand products elsewhere.

Consumer website Which? found Morrisons was the sixth cheapest supermarket for a basket of 43 items in February this year.

That put it behind Aldi, Lidl, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Asda.

Meanwhile, it might be worth straying from the supermarket if you are looking to buy toiletries.

Johnson’s 200ml Baby Oil is £1.35 while at Poundland the same product is £1.

Meanwhile, Colgate Triple Action toothpaste at Morrisons is £1 for 75ml. But Poundland sells 100ml for the same price.
