She has worked as a plumber since she was 16, when she started out as an apprentice.

Now Rachel shares her experiences on TikTok and Instagram to encourage more women to join the male-dominated plumbing industry.

She said that she wants to prove it’s possible for a plumber to be glamorous whenever they choose.

Rachel told NorthWalesLive: “No one ever expects me to say that I’m a plumber. I would say around 90% of customers I visit will mention something about me being a woman and ask me why I do it.

“My appearance doesn’t fit the ideal stereotype of what a plumber should be and so people automatically assume that I’m not capable, but I know I’m more than capable, so I don’t let it affect me.

“Customers are always inquisitive but generally their reaction to me is positive.”

Rachel is now teaming up with Checkatrade’s Get In campaign to encourage more women to take up trades.

She said: “I think schools and colleges firstly need to show it as an option to women and young girls.

“In school, going back to do A-Levels and then go to university was the only option that was encouraged for me.

“Going into construction wasn’t even discussed by teachers.

“Even when I went to my college induction for the plumbing course, I was asked if I wanted to look at other course options instead.”

Rachel added: “Women are more than capable of working in construction. I have never come across anything that I wasn’t able to do because I’m a woman.

“I love getting up every morning, jumping in my van and going to a different place to do a different job than the day before.

“No two days are the same and it never gets boring.”

It comes after hot electrician Isabell McGuire slammed trolls who said she is too glamorous to be a sparkie.

A mum recently revealed how she is haggling her way onto the property ladder with a button.

Sharon Pavey-Jones has already saved £2,000 after years of struggling to afford a house.
