Two adults and two children taken to hospital after blaze destroys second-floor flat in Stern Close

An 11-year-old boy has died after a flat caught fire in Barking, east London.

London fire brigade said it was called at 3.25am on Tuesday to a flat in Stern Close, Barking. A three-room flat on the second floor was destroyed by fire, the fire brigade said, and a child was pronounced dead at the scene.
