YOUR Sky box is full of clever tricks that take your telly time to a whole new level.
Many people may not realise what they’re missing out on.
So check whether you’ve applied these four useful hacks to your Sky Q now.
Download next episode
Have the next episode of your favourite TV show lined up to go as soon as you’ve finished the current episode.
You can set Sky Q to automatically download it for you, so you have the smoothest viewing experience with no risk of buffering woes.
To switch it on, go to the Settings and find Setup.
Select Preferences and enable Auto download next episode.
And if you’re really keen to keep watching, you can click on Auto play too, so the next episode will start straight away after you’ve finished the previous one.
Best audio with Atmos
Dolby Atmos is great for that cinema-style sound when watching a movie or sports in 4K.
If you have a surround sound system, make sure you’ve got it switched on to feel the difference.

Your speakers will need to be connected via HDMI for it to work, not the optical cable, so check that first.
Then, go to Settings, followed by Setup.
Go to the Audio Visual menu and choose Dolby Digital Plus.
Record more channels
If you’re stuck for choice and have a lot of stuff you want to record, thankfully you can up the number of channels.
You can take it to a maximum of six channels recording simultaneously if you like.
Go to Settings and find Setup.
Then head to Preferences, followed by Maximum number of recordings where you can increase the number.
Be warned though, if you change it to six, you’ll lose the little live preview bit on the mini guide.
Save money on your electricity bill
Every little electricity saving helps save money.
Sky Q has an eco mode so that it uses even less power overnight.
This usually kicks in between 2.30am and 5.45am – but it won’t start until any scheduled recordings are done.
To ensure it’s switched on, go to Settings, then Setup and Preferences.
Find Standby mode and switch on Eco mode.
