NINTENDO has revealed the full patch notes for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet’s 1.2.0 update, and when to expect it, but fans are missing important performance fixes.

Pokémon Scarlet & Violet’s publisher also confirmed that this new update will be coming at the end of February, most probably in time for this year’s Pokémon Day, on February 27, 2023.

Pokémon Scarlet & Violet launched with a number of bugs and issues, which are now being addressed in updates.

The new update will be adding features to Pokémon Boxes and fixing bugs that affect some players’ ability to progress in the games.

Despite the long list of fixes and feature adjustment, some fans have expressed disappointment with the apparent lack of general performance improvements.

One of the biggest issues players have been reporting since the games launched, are the frequent drops in framerate, especially in more graphics-intensive parts of the games’ open world.

Nevertheless, Nintendo has pointed out that “further features and bug fixes not listed in these patch notes” may be added to the update, so we might still see overall performance optimisations when the patch arrives, even though they are not specifically mentioned yet.

The latest pair of Pokémon games, Scarlet & Violet, launched in November 2022 with a number of game-breaking bugs and overall performance issues.

It is unusual for a Pokémon game to release in such an unpolished state, and Nintendo has been quick to issue an apology and a promise to fix issues with subsequent updates.

Since launch, the pacing of patches has been rather slow, as the games have only received two updates prior to this upcoming version 1.2.0.

The upcoming update will fix various issues related to Tera Raid battles, battle-related bugs affecting some Terastallized Pokémon.

Version 1.2.0 will also address an issue that is causing the games to suddenly close in some locations. This may come at the expense of having less Pokémon and people appear in some towns and in the open world.

The full list of bug fixes and feature updates coming to Pokémon Scarlet & Violet with update 1.2.0 can be found on Nintendo’s official website.
