The FTSE 100 index reached a new all-time high of 8,003 points this afternoon, before easing back below 8,000.

The blue-chip index closed up 0.55 per cent or 43.98 points to 7,997.83, as fears over a global recession fell.

Among the companies with reports and trading updates today are Barclays, Glencore, Dunelm, Hargreaves Lansdown and Anglo American. Read the Wednesday 15 February Business Live blog below.
