Medics may have to decide who lives or dies due to scarcity of resources during pandemic

Doctors forced to choose which patients to treat during the coronavirus pandemic and who would be left to die should be protected from prosecution, the prime minister has been told.

In a letter to Boris Johnson, the Medical Protection Society (MPS) has called on the government to prevent criminal or disciplinary action being taken against doctors over clinical decisions made due to scarcity of medical resources.
