The Bank of England will reveal its decision on interest rates at midday and is expected to follow the European Central Bank with a 50bps hike, taking UK base rate to 4 per cent.  

The FTSE 100 will open at 8am. Among the companies with reports and trading updates today are Shell, BT, Superdry, Safestyle UK, Bunzl and Cranswick. Read the Thursday 2 February Business Live blog below.
