Many of us are trying to find ways to make or save extra cash as the festive period begins and the cost of living grows.

But for some, rummaging through cupboards and drawers may be an easy way to get some cash as many Brits will have hundreds of pounds worth of unused electrical goods lying about.
Research from Uswitch last year revealed that households are hoarding 184million pieces of unwanted tech, worth almost £7billion.
You might also find it easier to sell your items as more recent research shows that more than 22million mobile customers are considering getting a refurbished phone compared to a new one.
Phone owners say they’re making the change to be greener but also because of high prices of new handsets and the cost of living crisis.
However, research commissioned by Which? found that Brits are still throwing away gadgets they could potentially sell.
Of those surveyed, 35% said they threw away their printer and that same figure said they threw away wired earphones.
A smaller 9% would throw away their laptops, 4% tablets and 3% smartphones.
Websites like Mazuma and MusicMagpie will recycle or resell appliances, often paying out more than you might expect.

All parts of the device must be fully functional and there should be no more than light wear and tear.
However, on eBay, a Play Station 4 2TB in good condition could sell anywhere from £160 – even more if you add any old games.
Samsung Galaxy S8 64GB: £68
According to Sell My Mobile, a good Samsung Galaxy S8 with 64GB memory could get you £68.
This phone is also nearly six years old, so is still worth a decent amount.
In comparison, eBay is selling refurbished Samsung Galaxy S8 phones for £159.99.
Macbook Air 8GB
A Macbook Air from 2015, which is in good condition, could sell on Music Magpie for £149.
All parts of the device should be fully functional and there should be minimal wear and tear.
On eBay, the same device is selling at around £100.
Kenwood dishwasher: From £45
Preowned kitchen appliances are more popular than ever, with delivery slots for new models particularly hard to find at this time of year.
And like desktop computers, their parts are often still worth good money to recyclers.
But if it’s time to upgrade – or you just want to go back to rubber gloves and a sponge – a Kenwood dishwasher could sell for £45 on eBay, while the same brand is currently going for £100 on preloved.co.uk.
