MCDONALD’S is adding a new chicken burger to menus – and it’s replacing a famous menu favourite.
Yesterday, McDonald’s revealed that it’s adding the McCrispy to its menu next week.

It’s the fast food company’s first new permanent chicken burger menu item in 15 years.
It will be available across 1,270 UK restaurants and online from October 19.
It will be replacing a much-loved menu item – the chicken legend with cool mayo.
But how does it taste and is it good value for money?
The McCrispy really does live up to its name. It’s very crispy.
It crunchy chicken fillet comes in a sourdough style bun, with lettuce and mayonnaise. It’s £4.99 and 485 calories. A medium fries and a drink meal costs £6.49.
It’s sort of similar to a KFC fillet burger, but none of the secret herbs and spices mix.
McDonald’s has spent four years developing the McCrispy and it was keen to show it off last night at a star studded bash.
The Chicken Legend with Cool Mayo, which the McCrispy is replacing, is £4.99 on its own – so there’s no difference in what you’re paying there.
In March, the McCrispy was trialled as the Crispy McFillet in 50 McDonald’s branches.
It initially had truffle mayonnaise but McDonald’s has ditched that in favour of its classic one.

We looked at prices of similar type burgers at KFC and Burger King as well to see how they came up price wise.
A KFC Fillet Burger, with 475 calories, comes in at £5.99, £1 more expensive.
To upgrade to a meal costs you £6.99, so 50p more expensive than a McCrispy with fries and drink.
A Chicken Royale in Burger King was £5.99 and 555 calories – so again you’re paying more there for a similar type of burger compared to the McCrispy.
That said, the McCrispy was crunchier than a Chicken Legend – so if texture is important to you it might be worth going for Maccie’s new burger.
