A SAVVY mum has revealed the easy change to make on your boiler to cut down your energy bills.

Adele Prendergast, from Lanarkshire, shared her money-saving hack on TikTok (@yourpayyourway).

The former accountant runs her own social enterprise, Your Pay Your Way, which aims to give people a better understanding of their finances.

And with gas and electricity costs causing concern across the country, Adele’s simple tip could help save some cash – and it won’t ‘s completely free to do.

Posting on TikTok, she said: “Here’s a money-saving tip if you’re confident in changing the settings on your boiler.

“The little tap sign on it tells you the temperature of your water.

“If you are prone to heating up baths or filling up the sink and then using cold water to bring it back down, you’re heating water up and wasting energy then cooling it back down again.

“Reduce the temperature on this. Now mine has only got a couple of buttons so it’s really easy.”

She added: “I just put it down to 50C

“That meant that my boiler went onto what it calls eco mode, which I assume is a good thing.

“That should save us a little bit of money, and every little helps at this point
