GOOGLE Maps fans have scoured the service to find one of the most recognised images ever.

Anyone who has used Windows 10 – practically everyone – will be familiar with this iconic shot.

It’s a stunning beach scene, but few actually knew where it is.

A TikToker has finally revealed the location of this lock screen shot.

And it turns out the spot is from New Zealand.

It’s right along the northern coast of the South Island to be exact.

The beach is called Wharariki Beach.

And it looks out on Archway Islands.

While most people may not have known the true location, obviously New Zealanders have been very aware for a long time.

“Everyone in New Zealand knew,” one commenter wrote, getting more than 28,000 likes.

However, there has been some dispute about the exact location in New Zealand.

Many believe it’s actually Cathedral Cove.

Either way, no-one seems to disagree that it’s somewhere in New Zealand.

But according to Tourism New Zealand, it is indeed Wharariki Beach.
