Demonstrators against police brutality reportedly killed after security forces opened fire

Sporadic shooting has been reported in Lagos as the president of Nigeria appealed for calm hours after protesters against police brutality were reported to have been shot dead by security forces in the centre of the city.

MuhammaduBuhari did not directly address the shootings, but called on Nigerians to be patient as police reforms “gather pace”.
