S&P Global and the Institute for Supply Management release September surveys of purchasing managers measuring economic activity in the U.S. manufacturing sector. S&P Global’s initial September manufacturing index indicated slightly faster growth than in August but was the second-lowest reading since July 2020. The data firm also releases September manufacturing indexes for other countries.
