A normal bank holiday is usually a great time for a pub trip, however, this bank holiday is different.

So here is what you need to know about pubs opening on the Queen’s funeral bank holiday.

Are pubs open for the Queen funeral Bank Holiday?

The Queen’s funeral bank holiday was declared to give Brits the chance to mourn the loss of the Queen on the day of her funeral.

But how are pub opening times affected by this?

Here’s a run-down of some of the biggest pub chains’ opening hours over this period.

Wetherspoons

Wetherspoons confirmed that some of their pubs will have reduced opening hours, while some will remain open as usual.

The Wetherspoons pubs in central London, airports, and railway stations will remain open as usual throughout the day.

Other Wetherspoons pubs will be closed until after the Queen’s state funeral, and will only open their doors at 1pm.

It is always advised that you check out their pub locater tool to confirm the opening times of the pub you plan to go to.

Simply enter the postcode or location, and it’ll give you the timings and contact details of the Wetherspoons.

Greene King

The Greene King have over 300 pubs in London only, and 2600 in the UK.

The pub chain has confirmed that the majority of its venues will remain open on Monday, September, 19.

A spokesperson for the pub explained that the venues with televisions will show the funeral service throughout the day.

You use their search tool to find out what time the pub you want to visit is opening and closing.

Marstons

Marstons have a number of pubs across the UK.

The pub group seems to be opening as normal on the day of the Queen’s funeral.

If you want to check their opening hours, you can use the pub finder on their website where you can find contact details for your boozer of choice.

Mitchells & Butlers are the main company that owns some of the UK’s favourite pubs such as Harvester and Toby Carvery.

They have confirmed that all of their venues will remain open on the bank holiday and will be showing the funeral “where possible”.

They have urged customers to check their local pub or restaurant for opening times.
