Charities set to struggle through winter

Despite Liz Truss’s announcement of a capof household bills at £2,500, there’s still concern.

Rhian Mannings set up charity, 2Wish, after her husband and son died five days apart.

Her one-year-old fell ill and died suddenly, and her husband, unable to cope with the loss, took his own life just five days later, leaving her with two children to look after.

Noticing a lack of follow-up bereavement care, Mannings set up a charity for those dealing with the loss of young persons.

But she now has concern for how her charity will stay afloat amongst the cost of living crisis: “People need to be able to feed their families and keep them warm, giving to a charity may not be their priority at the moment.

“It’s really difficult, I’ve got a family and a house to run and I know how difficult things are, and they’re going to get worse unfortunately.”
