Kroger said more shoppers are buying groceries at its supermarkets as they look to save money and cook more meals at home.

The Cincinnati-based company is gaining new shoppers and existing customers are spending more, said Chief Executive Rodney McMullen, adding that basket sizes are smaller but people are shopping more frequently in response to inflation.
