A MAJOR shake-up to McDonald’s’ menu is rolling out this week, and fans will no longer be able to get limited edition summer items.

The chain is ditching its Spanish and Cyprus menu items to make way for new choices – like the return of the spicy chicken McNuggets.

The menu change will happen on Wednesday, September 7, which means you only have until tomorrow to bag yourself items from McDonalds’ summer menu.

We explain what is being axed – and what is being added.

What is being axed from the menu?

Four items are being axed from the McDonald’s menu tomorrow, September 6.

They are from the chain’s summer menu, inspired by Spanish and Cypriot flavours:

Start date for McDonald's Monopoly 2022 finally revealed
What are the rare McDonald's Monopoly pieces 2021?
  • The Spanish Spicy Stack – £5.39
  • The Chicken Fiesta – £5.39
  • Halloumi Fries –  – £2.49 (single) £6.49 (share box)
  • Spanish Fruit Punch – £2.29 (medium) £2.61 (large)

What is being added to the menu?

Five items are being added to the McDonald’s menu on September 7.

The new menu items will be launched at the same time as the return of McDonald’s Monopoly.

This year’s players will be able to play for £100,00 cash, a £2,000 holiday with Tiu, a Nintendo Switch, free Maccies meals plus many more, it has been announced.

Returning once more to the menu is McDonald’s’ spicy chicken McNuggets.

They hit the menu as a limited edition item for the first time in 2019.

We gave them a try before they hit the menu at this point – but we were disappointed by the lack of heat.

Also joining the menu is the Big Tasty – which is made with 100% British and Irish beef topped with two slices of Emmental cheese, bacon, lettuce, crispy onions and lashings of Big Tasty BBQ sauce.

Mozzarella Dippers and the Mars and Twix McFlurry are returning to the menu.

So far, McDonald’s has only confirmed how much the Spicy McNuggets are – which is £3.99 for six, nine for £4.49, and 20 for £5.99.

We’ve asked McDonald’s how much these items will cost – and we’ll update this story as soon as we know more.

This is how much the remaining menu items were last time they hit the menu:

  • Big Tasty – £5.39 on its own, £6.89 part of a medium meal (cost in March this year)
  • Mozzarella dippers – three for £1.89, or nine for £5.09 (cost in January this year)
  • Twix McFlurry – 99p for mini, £1.39 for regular (cost in August 2019)
  • Mars McFlurry – 99p for mini, £1.39 for regular (cost in August 2019)

But as McDonald’s has recently hiked prices across its menu, it is likely that these items will cost more than they used to.
