ITV warned advertising sales will slump this summer after the European football championships helped it to record highs last year.
The broadcaster behind shows including Love Island and I’m A Celebrity said advertising revenue slipped 13 per cent in June compared with last year. But it is expecting a lift this winter from the World Cup.
Chief executive Dame Carolyn McCall said it will be difficult to match last year when business was boosted by the Euros and the economic rebound.

ITV reported an 8 per cent sales jump in the first half of this year, with overall revenue hitting £1.7billion.
Sales in its media and entertainment arm, including its TV channel, rose 4 per cent to top £1billion.
It reported a bumper performance at ITV Studios, which makes shows including Dancing On Ice. Sales jumped 16 per cent to £927m as it sold more programmes to the likes of Netflix and Amazon Prime.
Profit slipped 3 per cent to £318m as it spent more on content and prepared for the launch of its enlarged streaming service ITVX.
