Song ID

You can instantly ID a song using a built-in Apple tool.

The feature works using music-identification tool Shazam, which was actually bought by Apple.

It lets you quickly identify songs playing on your iPhone – or elsewhere.

You can add a quick shortcut to Apple Music recognition in your Control Centre.

That makes it much easier to quickly access.

All you need to do is going into Settings > Control Centre and then add Music Recognition at the bottom of the list.

Then when you swipe into your Control Centre (by pulling down from the top-right of the phone) you can quickly access it.

Simply tap the Shazam symbol – which looks like an S – and you’re away.

This can quickly identify TikTok songs that haven’t been named.

And it can also discover songs that are playing near you in the real world too.

DIY hack

Your iPhone has a hidden DIY hack that you can access in seconds.

In fact, it’s technically two hacks: you’ve got a measuring tool and a spirit level tucked away inside your iPhone.

The Measure app became available as part of Apple iOS 12 update a few years ago.

It uses clever camera technology to determine distances, giving you reasonably accurate read-outs of how long or wide objects are.

To use it, simply point the camera at the object you’re trying to measure.

If it’s a easily-trackable shape, Measure will automatically measure the width and length, and even calculate the object’s surface area.

Alternatively, you can create your own lines and shapes by using the big Plus button on the screen.

The Apple Measure app also features a spirit level function.

Hidden trackpad

If you’ve ever used an iPhone to type, you’ll know that going back to correct or add parts can sometimes be difficult.

That’s especially true if you’re trying to edit mid-way through a word, due to the difficulty of placing the cursor.

Well there’s a precision cursor trick hidden in the Apple keyboard, if you know where to look.

It allows you to precisely move between characters in text without furiously tapping the display.

Simply hold down the space bar when you’ve typed some text.

The keyboard will suddenly transform into a trackpad that you can drag your finger across to move the cursor.

It’s a seriously handy iPhone hack that will totally change the way you text.

And it works in any app that uses the standard Apple iPhone keyboard.

Get rain alerts

No one likes getting caught in the rain.

That’s why you need to set up rain alerts on iPhone.

They’re hidden in the Apple Weather app.

I've been locked out of my home of 15 years... I deserve to live there
Thousands have just DAYS left to qualify for free cash to cover energy bills

Turn them on and you’ll get a notification just before it’s about to start raining where you are.

So hopefully you can stay dry!
