It comes after the banking group closed 28 sites between January and April this year.

More than 140 branches will be closing in 2022, and 13 will be shutting their doors in January.

A spokesman for Lloyds said visit to these branches have fallen by 60% in the last five years, on average, and by 85% in some locations.

The banking giant said it was aiming to support staff impacted and to move those who wanted to stay with the bank to a new role.

Russell Galley, Director of Consumer Relationships at Lloyds Banking Group said: “Alongside our digital, online and telephone services, we’ll continue to invest in our branches, but they need to be in the right places, where they’re well-used.”

For each branch which will close, Lloyds said there will be a free cash machine or Post Office within one mile, so affected customers can still access their cash.

This is where your bank brings a bus to your local area that has the services that are usually available at your branch.

You should call up your bank to see if its runs a banking bus and they will be able to tell you where and when it will be parked.
