BRITS can get their hands on huge discounts on energy bills, school uniforms, holidays and Christmas costs as Boris Johnson launches a landslide new four-point plan.

The Prime Minister hopes his “help for households” campaign will help struggling families as the cost-of-living crisis bites.

The new scheme has seen the government forge partnerships with major companies to come up with offers to combat the “significant financial burden” on Brits as prices rocket and inflation balloons.

A Downing Street source told The Sunday Times: “He [The PM] wants to make sure – after two years of the pandemic – that they [Brits] have a good summer.

“And that there is continued support for them as they face a potentially difficult autumn and winter.”

The first wave of support in the four point plan will see the government offer affordable days out for families who can’t afford to go abroad this summer.

It will mean those down in the dumps about being unable to pay for a holiday can still enjoy precious family time and create memories without hopping on a plane.

And it might be a good thing given the carnage that has engulfed UK airports this year.

While in a second throng of support, Mr Johnson has vowed to help families struggling with back-to-school costs such as uniform.

This will arrive in September when kids go back for the new academic year and aims to cut unnecessary worry buying necessities for kids.

Thirdly, a support package for energy bills will be made available.

This comes as it is feared bills could top a crippling £3,300 this Autumn amid the rocketing cost of oil, gas and electricity spurred on by the war in Ukraine.

It will come on top of a wave of other support packages made available to Brits struggling their energy bills.

While Christmas will come early for many as costs around the festive period will be alleviated thanks to Mr Johnson’s fourth offering

It is unclear at this stage how much cash can be offered to families seeking to make the most of the four point plan.

The plan – to be launched next week – was masterminded by cost-of-living Tsar and JustEat food delivery founder David Buttress.

He urged pals from the world of business to step forward “to help the British people” with his plan.

HELPING HAND

But you don’t have to wait for the latest support packages to get help, as there is already a raft of support available to Brits.

The British Gas hardship grant helps low-income households with their bills, giving struggling Brits access to an extra £1,500 – and you don’t need to be a customer.

While £150 is also available to hard up families under the Household Support Fund (HSF) initiative.

Struggling families can apply to their local council for the emergency grants, which are to help cover energy, food, and water costs.

And thousands of hard-pressed families across the UK could be in line for up to £200 towards the cost of their children’s school uniform.

Some local councils across the UK offer school clothing grants to households who might not be able to afford it.

Under the Education Act 1990, local authorities have the power to provide financial help to parents on low incomes to assist them with buying school clothing for their children.
