THE AMAZON Echo smart speaker has gone on super-sale with the price slashed by more than 50%.
Amazon has kicked off Prime Day early with summer sales on select products – find how you can get in on the savings.
The 4th generation Echo smart speaker has been marked down from $49.99 to just $19.99.
The smart speaker is manufactured by Amazon and comes preprogrammed with Alexa.
Only Amazon Prime members can get in on this major discount, which comes just ahead of Prime Day on July 12.
The Verge reported that the Prime Day sale means products made by Amazon will likely see their best price excluding Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
The smart speaker market is crowded with competitive products like Google Nest, Sonos One, plus everyone’s in-pocket digital assistant Siri.
But reporters at CNET ranked the 4th-gen Echo as 2022’s top smart speaker and the 500,000 ratings on Amazon give the device an average of 4.7/5 stars.
Amazon’s smart speaker products have been designed to nestle into homes and offices – multiple Echo units can be synced together to give your home a functional PA system.
Satisfied customers praise the gadget’s ability to alter the home with commands that control lights, thermostats, and more – but there is widespread concern that Amazon may be listening to conversations.
