The 28-year-old Aussie, dubbed a “Sleepfluencer”, earns £30k a month by giving users full control of his bedroom while he sleeps.

“There is a live interactive sleep stream, which means you, the viewer, can control everything, you can turn the lights on, you can turn sound on, keep me up all night, don’t let me sleep live,” told 9 News Australia.

Jake livestreams from his bedroom from 11pm and 6am and claims up to 8,000 people tune in to watch.

Every “gift” they pay for results in a siren going off or another feature playing in his room.

“On the back wall there’s a list of different gifts, TikTok has a couple of hundred different little animated gifts that you can send through,” the savvy entrepreneur said.

“And each gift costs different values of money, so it’s basically like a menu where people can go, ‘Ah if I send this gift then whatever’s next to it will play’, or if they send this gift the lights will turn on the video, bubble machines, an inflatable, a bit of everything.”

Viewers have more than 20 gifts to choose from and pay for one every 10 to 20 seconds, according to Jake.

“It’s sort of going from instead of them waking me up, it’s more – they don’t allow me to sleep,” he said.

He said the gifts range in price from 30p to £340.

“We’ve had, normally two to three people a week who will do the big $600 one. I had one the other night, someone came in and dropped three in a row, the same person,” he said.

“Don’t know who they are but they came in and threw it down.”

TikTok takes 50 percent commission from each gift but that hasn’t stopped Jake raking in the cash.

In a clip that has been viewed over 6.9 million times and had more than 438,000 likes, the Aussie is abruptly woken from his sleep at 12.30am with bubbles, an inflatable doll and the theme song from Barney The Dinosaur blasting loudly.

Another video shows him woken up at 2am with speakers screeching dubstep tunes.

“It started as one single gift and one sound,” Jake told NeedToKnow.online.

“We now have lights, bubble machines, inflatables, laser lights and over 20 sound effects.

“Every night is the same, a sound or light is activated every 10-15 seconds, it’s constant all night.”

Jake plans to keep doing the livestreams every night and adding new features.

“As long as people are watching and gifting, I’ll be live,” he said.
