A FARMER has told of the “massive success” his family have enjoyed after flogging out their land to visitors at a beauty spot.
The Jackson family have farmed next to stunning Fraisthorpe Beach, East Yorks, for generations.

But the savvy farmers spotted a business opportunity to make some cash from the hordes of beachgoers that descend on the sand near Bridlington.
So they decided to open a caravan site, a ticketed car park and even a dog friendly café to snare dogwalkers at the beach.
Harry Jackson, whose dad Mark came up with the idea, says the new streams of income are now a “full on job”.
He told Yorkshire Live: “I just have my wage but I’m guessing we do alright.
“We had to adapt though because farming had been going downhill for years.”
He told how the “really private and quiet” camp site offers the “perfect” spot for all ages.
They even throw camper and caravan rallies there to raise a bit of cash.
And given it’s right next to the beach, it is a hit with older folk who don’t have to trek long distances.

But it’s the carpark that brings in the cash thanks to an automated parking system.
Harry explained how the car park gets filled to the brim over the summer when visitors flock to the beach to bask in the sunshine and can often see hundreds of vehicles queuing to get it in.
And after a busy day a café run by the family offers a spot to relax in.
The family admit the dog-friendly caff has been a “massive success” since it opened.
But they stopped short of revealing the true sums they’re cashing in on at the beauty spot.
Retiree Stephen Lount, 66, cycles to the beach to give advice to visitors on how the parking machine works and also keeps the place looking tidy.
“It’s the open space that brings people here and it’s an easy walk to Bridlington”, he said.
