Launches come days after leaders of South Korea and US agreed to scale up joint military drills

North Korea has fired two unspecified ballistic missiles off its east coast, Seoul’s joint chiefs of staff said on Wednesday.

The launches early in the day were less than an hour apart and came days after South Korea and US leaders agreed to scale up joint military drills and deployment of American weapons.
