A TIKTOKER has urged iPhone owners to make one simple change on their device to stop apps from tracking you.
Tracking is used by app makers for a number of things, but usually it helps them target you with adverts so they can make money.
Apple is quite good at preventing apps from doing this, making it a requirement to ask for your permission first.
But it can be easy to forget what you’ve agreed to allow.
What’s more, some apps will only work fully if you have tracking on.
You might be surprised to see just how many apps you’ve allowed to track you over the years.
“If you have an iPhone you have to try this,” TikToker Chillrogg told his 635,000 followers.
“This one will stop companies from tracking your personal information.”
All you need to do is go to the Settings menu and find Privacy.
From there, you’ll see Tracking.

Tap this and there will be a whole list of apps that currently have permission to track you.
Switch each one off to block their tracking ability.
While you’re here, it’s also worth making sure the Allow Apps to Request to Track is switched on.
This will at least give you a heads up when an app wants to track your activity, instead of allowing them to go ahead without your knowledge.
