PRET A Manger has been forced to remove ALL chicken from its menu over a feared salmonella outbreak at its suppliers.

The sandwich giant said it had taken out the items “due to a potential food safety risk at a supplier,” describing the move as a “precautionary measure”.

It comes as Aldi also had to recall its chicken and bacon Caesar wraps, while Sainsbury’s has warned customers chicken is “blocked from sale”.

Sainsbury’s customers have claimed that they were unable to buy any cooked chicken products at the till, with one saying they saw staff members removing chicken products from the shelves to be “destroyed”.

A risk of salmonella is believed to have been found at a site owned by one of Pret’s suppliers.

Pret, which had 373 branches in the UK as of March last year, has removed the ad for its new Sriracha Chicken Salad Wrap from its website.

Other customer favourites such as the Chicken Caesar baguette also don’t appear online, with a note instead saying: “Oops, this product is currently not in our shops.”

The Food Standards Agency has warned anyone with the Aldi items in their fridge not to eat them, and instead return them to their nearest store and collect a full refund.

The Sun Online has approached Pret A Manger for comment.
