The award-winning actor portrayed sneaky Slytherin student Draco Malfoy throughout the Harry Potter movie series, from 2001 to 2011.

But now he’ll appear before audiences in virtual reality.

It’s part of a retelling of the failed Gunpowder Plot from 1605, when Guy “Guido” Fawkes, 35, tried to blow up the Palace of Westminster.

The high-tech multi-sensory adventure mixes both live actors and digital stars for over an hour and a half.

“I’m very excited to be playing a character so famous (and infamous!) for being at the centre of the most famous conspiracy plot in UK history,” Tom said.

“Guy Fawkes is a fascinating character with a complex history and with passionate advocates and detractors then and now.

“To be able to bring the character to life through virtual reality, and to allow him to interact with audiences in a way that has never been done before, is thrilling.”

Gary Beadle, who famously played Patrick Trueman’s son Paul in EastEnders, is also among the cast of more than 50 people.

Since Harry Potter concluded, Tom has actually been busy on a number of big screen projects and has just made his West End debut too.

Beyond Hogwarts, he’s appeared in Rise of the Planet of the Apes, A United Kingdom, US TV series The Flash and most recently Netflix movie The Forgotten Battle.

He joined award-winning stage thriller 2:22 A Ghost Story last weekend.

The Gunpowder Plot opens from May 20, deep within the Tower Vaults at the Tower of London.
