FORTNITE fans will have to wait before starting the new season as the game went offline to update.

Gamers looking forward to the start of Season 2 will have to be patient as Fortnite will be offline for server maintenance.

Epic Games have confirmed the downtime starts today, informing players they will be kicked out of the game for that period.

A message from Epic Games adds: “Downtime for Chapter 3 Season 2 will start at 3:00 AM ET (07:00 UTC) with matchmaking being disabled 30 minutes prior.”

Based on previous updates the game is expected to be back online approximately two hours later.

The new season is set to start between 9am GMT and 1pm GMT.
