It costs just $429/£419, making it the cheapest new iPhone you can buy today.

And it’s packed with features that give it the edge over 2020’s iPhone SE 2.

One of the big advantages is that the new iPhone SE 3 appears to have a larger battery.

That means battery life is significantly improved versus the iPhone SE 2.

The new iPhone SE promises an impressive 15 hours of video playback.

That’s up on the 13 hours offered by the previous generation model.

Streamed video is 10 hours of playback, versus eight hours on the old model.

And audio playback hits 50 hours, up from 40 hours on the iPhone SE 2.

If battery life is a big deal for you, it’s worth considering the new Apple iPhone SE 3 as an upgrade.

So what else is new with the iPhone SE 3?

The headline change is the addition of support for 5G internet.

You’ll still need a 5G SIM and 5G network coverage in your area to make use of it.

But both are becoming increasingly common.

The overall shape of the device remains inspired by the iPhone 8.

That includes the Touch ID home button, which has long been ditched on the main iPhone series.

It comes in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB storage variants.

And you get a 4.7-inch Retina HD display with a 1334 x 750-pixel resolution.

Impressively, the handset is powered by Apple’s A15 Bionic chip – the same speedy processor in the new iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro.

There’s a 12-megapixel wide camera on the back with an f/1.8 aperture.

And it can record 4K video at up to 60 frames per second.
