A mayoral candidate in Louisville, Kentucky, was safe after he was targeted in a shooting at his office on Monday, police said.

Craig Greenberg was targeted at Butchertown Market, where he keeps an office in a floor above the shops, Louisville Metro Police said in a news conference.

Officers were called to the building at about 10:15, police said. While no one was injured in the shooting, a round did hit a piece of Greenberg’s clothing.

“My team and I are fortunately all safe. We are all with LMPD now. I will provide an update as soon as possible. Thank you for the outpouring of support,” Craig Greenberg shared on Twitter before noon.

The suspected shooter was detained, but has not been identified.

Investigators do not know if the incident was politically motivated and are considering all possible motives, but police said they are monitoring other mayoral candidates and community leaders.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and FBI are assisting in the investigation.

Greenberg is a Democrat who announced his mayoral run in April of last year.

This is a developing story, please check back for updates.
