Investment in UK financial tech soared seven-fold last year as deals hit record levels.
The number involving UK fintech firms rose 27 per cent to 601. The amount of money involved rocketing to £27.6billion in 2021 from just £3.8billion in 2020, according to data from KPMG.

Karim Haji, of KPMG, said Britain remained ‘at the centre of European fintech investment’, attracting more funding than the rest of the region combined.
The report also flagged that five of the ten largest fintech deals in the EMEA region last year were completed in the UK.
