SUPERMARKETS including Sainsbury’s and Morrisons have urgently recalled two more products over fears they could cause serious illness.
The grocers issued a warning to customers yesterday that several raw pastry and pizza dough items could be contaminated with salmonella.
This morning the Food Standards Agency updated the recall notice with a further two products – bringing the total number affected to 18.
Salmonella can cause serious food poisoning, with symptoms including vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach cramps and a fever.
The two products that have been added to the list are By Sainsbury’s ready roll puff pastry and Morrisons puff pastry block.
Both items were also included in yesterday’s warning, but two new batches with different use-by dates have been added.
If you have bought any pizza dough or raw pastry from Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s or Aldi you should check to see if it has been recalled.
Pizza Express and Galberts products are also affected, so if you’ve purchased either of those brands recently you also need to look at the recall list.
We’ve published a full list of the recalled products, including the specific pack size and use by dates, further down in this article.
If you’ve bought one of the items you should not eat it and instead return it to any branch of the supermarket that you originally purchased it from.
You will be given a full refund and you don’t need to provide a receipt.
Bake Away, the manufacturer of the items, said notices will be displayed in all stores that are selling these products.

Traces of salmonella were found in some Lidl Christmas treats in December, forcing the supermarket to issue an urgent recall.
Other recent warnings have included a mislabelled carbonara that could have caused allergic reactions and chocolate ice creams that mistakenly contained plastic.
