FORTNITE players can get their hands on the new Crescent Shroom Pickaxe for free before it hits the Item Shop.
After server issues last week that cut into the Fortnite Winterfest event, Epic Games is making amends.

The developer is offering players the chance to get the Crescent Shroom Pickaxe as well as a Power Levelling Weekend.
Epic has confirmed that the pickaxe will be in the Item Shop soon, but you can get it for free right now.
It’s part of the Madcap set which we got a peek at thanks to Fortnite leaker Hypex.
How to get the Crescent Shroom Pickaxe in Fortnite
The Crescent Shroom Pickaxe is free to everyone who logged into Fortnite during Winterfest.
So if you hopped into the game between December 16 and today, January 6, you’ll be eligible.
Given that it’s the last day of Winterfest today, and that the Power Levelling weekend starts tomorrow, the Crescent Shroom Pickaxe will most likely be available from Friday, January 7.
I expect it’ll be available from 4pm PT/ 7pm ET / 12am GMT, at the same time the Power Levelling weekend begins.
