INSTAGRAM is always working on new features and it looks like something might be coming to Stories very soon.

And we’re not talking about stickers and the usual updates.

It seems the tech giant is working on making Stories longer, which will be welcome news for social media lovers.

You could already post as much as you like but it would be split into 15 second segments.

That’s not ideal – and also looks silly when any edits you do only appear on one bit at a time.

So having an extra 45 seconds could be pretty useful for some.

The extension was first spotted in Turkey and will likely be rolled out to other countries at some point – though Instagram is yet to confirm anything.

Users in the country started seeing a popup which reads: “Discover longer stories.

“Videos up to 60 seconds will no longer be segmented.”

The move comes as Instagram faces fierce competition to keep up with TikTok and Snapchat.

It’s designed to give creators more advanced editing tools compared to the usual app.

Instagram recently tried to copy some of Spotify’s success with its Year In Review feature.

With it, users get a random selection of Stories from across the year put together to round off 2021.

The new feature has been spotted in Turkey, with no word on whether it'll be rolled out worldwide
