This story is part of Select’s New & Notable column, where we highlight our favorite product launches. We will continuously update this article throughout the month with new releases we think you should know about.

Compared to Thuma’s original mattress, The Hybrid Mattress has a firmer feel and offers more structured support. It’s 11 inches tall and is designed with four layers, including a coil base to help reduce motion transfer while you’re sleeping, a supportive memory foam layer and a temperature-regulating wool layer. The mattress ships rolled in a box and comes in sizes from twin to California king.

Ettitude — one of our favorite AAPI-owned brands — developed a new linen-like fabric, Linen+, that’s made from the brand’s CleanBamboo material and hemp. It has a soft, breathable feel with a woven look, and gets less wrinkly than flax linen, according to the brand. Ettitude used the fabric to create a sheet set, pillowcase set, duvet cover and coverlet, which separates your duvet cover and sheets.

W&P’s Roll Right Bags are reusable storage bags with a chip-clip-like feature built-in — the top of the bag rolls down and has a crimp closure to keep air out while you’re storing food. They’re made from clear silicone and you can label them with dry-erase markers, as well as use them in your refrigerator, freezer or pantry. The Roll Tight Bags are sold as a set of three, which includes one small, medium and large bag.

Lasko makes some of our favorite fans, and its latest cooling appliance is compatible with the brand’s new Aria app, allowing you to control the device from your phone or tablet. The fan also responds to Google or Alexa voice commands. It’s 40 inches tall and weighs 10 pounds, and using its handle, you can move the fan around your home. The fan offers five-speed settings as well as 90-degree oscillation to spread cool air across rooms. It also has a built-in timer that can be set for up to 9 hours and dark mode, which allows you to turn off the device’s LED interface while you’re sleeping.

Jackery, makers of popular portable power stations and solar generators, launched this new portable power station fit for emergency prep, camping, or backup home power.

Like the brand’s popular Explorer 300 and Explorer 1000 models, the Explorer 2000 Plus becomes a solar generator when hooked up to a solar panel (sold separately). But the Explorer 2000 Plus is much larger and more powerful than those models, with over double the battery capacity at 2040.8Wh. It also uses lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries, which last much longer than traditional lithium-ion batteries, according to the brand.

The station has four standard AC outlets, one 25A AC outlet, two USB-A slots, two USB-C slots and one DC 12V 10A carport. It weighs about 61 pounds, but has a retractable handle and two wheels built-in, meaning you can roll it like you would your luggage.

You can purchase the power station on its own, or buy it together with a solar panel in a bundle.

In addition to blocking out light while you’re sleeping, Luna’s weighted eye mask provides gentle pressure to the eyes, temples and forehead, creating a calming and soothing effect, according to the brand. You can also remove the weighted insert and heat it in the microwave or freeze it — heat is ideal for dry eyes and muscle relaxation, while cold is ideal for puffy eyes, dark circles and reducing inflammation, according to Luna, which makes some of the best weighted blankets. The sleep mask’s adjustable strap helps you customize its size so it fits around your head, and the mask is machine-washable if you take the weighted insert out.

Tower 28’s SOS Daily Barrier Recovery Cream is a daily moisturizer made for those with sensitive skin, and like many of the AAPI-owned brand’s other products, it earned the National Eczema Association’s Seal of Acceptance. The moisturizer contains four types of hydrating hyaluronic acid, ceramides and allantoin, a calming ingredient, according to the brand. It has a non-greasy, non-sticky feel and is non-comedogenic, meaning it won’t clog pores.

Birthdate expanded its jewelry line with a new ring that’s personalized based on your birthday, similar to the AAPI-owned brand’s pendant, which now comes in silver as well as gold. The ring is available in sizes 4 to 10 and is made from sterling silver with 14-karat gold plating. In addition to your birthstone, the ring is decorated with small white stones and it comes with a note card that explains each gemstone’s significance, plus a personalized birth month reading.

Zoe Malin, NBC Select associate updates editor, got to customize a ring based on her January birthday. Learning about the history of her birthstone when she received the ring made it all the more special, she says. Malin thinks the ring makes a great gift any time of year, and if you’re buying it for a parent, you can customize it with their child’s birthstone as well.

Brümate’s new insulated water bottle comes with the brand’s TwistSip lid — you twist the cap to raise the stainless steel straw, preventing you from having to touch it before sipping, and making it leakproof when the straw is tucked away. The water bottle’s wide-mouth opening also makes it easy to add ice cubes to drinks. The swappable silicone sleeves that come with each bottle cushion it and prevent dings and dents if you drop it. The Rotera Water Bottle is available in four sizes: 15 ounces, 25 ounces, 35 ounces and 65 ounces. The 15- and 25-ounce bottles fit in most cup holders, according to the brand.

Samsung

Samsung released the M50C, M70C and M80C: 27 and 32-inch displays that act as both a computer monitor and a smart TV in one. All three of these displays work like normal computer monitors, fit with USB and HDMI ports, built-in speakers, Bluetooth connectivity, a 60Hz refresh rate screen and ergonomically adjustable stands. But they also have some smart TV capabilities, such as voice control, Samsung smart home connectivity, remote control and streaming apps like Netflix built-in. Details on each model are below:

Samsung M80C Smart Monitor

The highest-priced of the new monitors, the M80C is a 4K display with the brightest and most detailed screen of the bunch. The screen has a max brightness of 400 nits and supports HDR10 Plus. It also comes with a dedicated webcam.

Samsung M70C Smart Monitor (Preorder)

The middle of the range, the M70C is a 4K display that has most of the features of the M80C, minus the dedicated webcam. The screen has a max brightness of 300 nits and supports HDR10.

Samsung M50C Smart Monitor

The most affordable of the bunch, the M50C is a 1080p display that is a little dimmer than the M70C, with a max brightness of 250 nites and support for HDR10. Unlike the other models, the M50C does not have a USB-C port built-in and does not support voice assistants.

Like one of our other favorite handheld gaming consoles, the ROG Ally is a powerful device that can play thousands of PC games. Rabinowitz has been using the ROG Ally for about a month and thinks it’s best for tech and gaming enthusiasts that want maximum power, performance and customization. Unlike other handheld gaming consoles, it runs the Windows operating system, meaning it can browse the web, download software and handle tasks more common to laptops, not handhelds. The software and menus are a little confusing — Rabinowitz hopes it improves with future software updates.

The Wonder Oven is Our Place’s first-ever appliance, an air fryer and toaster oven that also comes with bake, roast, reheat and broil settings. The oven is 11.6 inches high, 10.6 inches deep and 11.5 inches wide — the compact size doesn’t take up much counter space, making it ideal for small kitchens. For all cooking modes, you can activate the oven’s steam infusion technology by adding about a tablespoon of water to the dedicated inlet. The steam helps make food moist on the inside and crispy on the outside. After choosing a cooking setting, you can customize heat settings from 200 to 450 degrees Fahrenheit and set the built-in timer up to 60 minutes. The multi-level oven comes with a baking pan, air fryer basket and wire rack, and it’s available in char, steam and blue salt colors.

Sun & Done is skin care brand Covey’s first sunscreen, offering SPF 50 protection and also serving as a moisturizer. It’s made with non-nano zinc oxide, making it a reef-safe sunscreen. Sun & Done is also formulated with apple extract which is rich in antioxidants and vitamin C, and squalane, a hydrating ingredient. The sunscreen blends in sheer and does not leave a white cast on all skin tones, according to the brand. You should reapply Sun & Done every two hours and can use it as a primer before makeup application.

Knix’s Leakproof Thigh Saver is a hybrid between the brand’s shorts and period underwear. It’s designed to cover the thighs to help prevent chafing while wearing shorts and skirts and has a built-in gusset that absorbs the same amount of blood as three tampons, according to the brand. The shorts are 6 inches long and hit above the mid-thigh. They’re made from a nylon and lycra blend fabric that molds to your body. You can purchase the Leakproof Thigh Saver in sizes from XS to XXXXL and they’re available in black, leopard print and warm sand colors.

Rhode’s Glazing Milk is the first permanent addition to the brand’s product line since it launched in 2022. The Glazing Milk is made with ceramides to hydrate the skin barrier, and it also helps to reduce the appearance of redness while calming and soothing irritated skin, according to the brand. You can apply the Glazing Milk to your face in the morning and evening after cleansing. The fragrance-free Glazing Milk also preps skin to promote better absorption as you layer other products on top of it, like vitamin C and retinol. It has a lightweight, smooth, milky texture.

Coway, best known for its air purifiers, launched its first air purifier fan hybrid. Like all of our recommended air purifiers, it uses a HEPA filter to filter smoke, dust, pollen and other irritants. But it also acts as a large fan that can be tilted up to 90 degrees and oscillates up to 80 degrees. You can use the wireless remote or on-unit buttons to adjust settings like oscillation, set a timer and more.

Iterating off its original Hybrid Pillow, which is made with layers of foam and polyester fibers, Casper released a cooling version designed for hot sleepers. The new cooling pillow is made with Casper’s proprietary Snow Technology, which includes graphite HeatDelete bands that move heat away from your body to help regulate your temperature overnight. The pillow also has a cool-to-the-touch top layer, the effects of which updates editor Mili Godio noticed immediately when she tried it: “It felt cold and comfortable for hours, so I never had to flip it over like I would a standard pillow,” Godio says. “When I woke up in the morning, I still felt the coolness against my skin despite laying on it for over 8 hours.” The pillow also has a knit cover that you can remove and machine wash.

Once you add a half-cup of pellets to Ninja’s electric Woodfire Outdoor Oven, you can cook pizza, ribs, corn and more in your backyard or on a patio while infusing food with a smokey flavor. You can also use the oven without the pellets and store it outdoors year-round. The tabletop oven offers eight cooking settings, including smoker, broil, bake, pizza and dehydrate. You can set a temperature between 105 and 700 degrees Fahrenheit and fit a full-size sheet pan, 8×11 casserole dish or 12-pound turkey inside. It comes with a pan, pizza stone, roast rack and pellet scoop, plus a pack of pellets.

Material — one of our favorite AAPI-owned brands — debuted the Salt Sphere, a container that stores salt, pepper and other spices while also serving as a piece of kitchen decor. The sphere has a flat base, and it sits on a fluted removable base where you can also store seasonings in. The Salt Sphere is made from your choice of maple or walnut wood, and it’s the first release in the brand’s Material Objects collection, a line of limited-edition functional objects you can use in the kitchen.

Material sent me the Salt Sphere to try, and my favorite part is its magnetic swivel lid. You can open the container with one hand if your other is dirty or stirring while cooking, and the lid stays connected to the sphere at all times, so you can’t lose it. The Salt Sphere is also quite small — it’s 4.25 inches wide and 5 inches tall, so even in my tiny New York City kitchen, it doesn’t take up much counter space.

Lodge launched a new line of enamel-coated cast iron Dutch ovens made at the company’s headquarters in Tennessee. The cookware is available in three colors — Cherry on Top (red), Cloud Nine (white) and Smooth Sailing (blue) — and four sizes: 3 quarts, 4.5 quarts, 6 quarts and 7.5 quarts. Each Dutch oven has broad stainless steel handles you can grasp while moving it from the stovetop to the oven, and a domed lid with a stainless steel knob. The interior of Dutch ovens have a smooth enameled cooking surface, and their cast iron build allows them to retain and evenly distribute heat, according to the brand. You can put the cookware in the refrigerator, and it’s stovetop- and oven-safe up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit.

To turn Burrow’s new Shift Sleeper Sofa into a queen-sized bed, you remove the back cushions and unfold the seat using the integrated handle. The sofa’s arm cushion inserts also double as standard pillows when you put them into pillowcases. The Shift Sleeper Sofa is covered in scratch- and stain-resistant fabric, according to the brand, and has a memory foam interior. You can purchase it in stone gray or navy blue colors, and the sofa has walnut wood legs. It requires no tools for assembly and disassembly.

Lumos, makers of one of our favorite bike helmets, released its first bike light system. Like its helmets, these lights are high-tech and can be controlled with the Lumos App or Lumos Remote (sold separately).

Select reporter Harry Rabinowitz has been using a set of two Firefly lights for about three weeks, and they are some of the best bike lights he has used. Through the app, you can set each light’s position: front, rear, front left, rear right, etc. — the corresponding lights flash yellow when you activate a turn on the remote. The mount for the lights wraps around your bike frame with the included velcro and silicone straps. The lights themselves slot into the mounts magnetically with a satisfying click. The lights charge wirelessly and are IPX6 water-resistant.

Three weeks in, Rabinowitz is very impressed with these lights, especially the Lumos app, water resistance, wireless charging and magnetic mounts.

Roborock makes some of our favorite robot vacuums, and this new product is a combination of vacuum and mop. It comes with a docking station where the robot can empty the dustbin, refill the mop wash, scrub and dry the mop pads and recharge the vacuum. Like other premium robot vacuums, it automatically maps your space (including multi-level homes), has obstacle avoidance, can set no-go zones and can be synced with voice assistance like Amazon Alexa, Google Home and Apple Siri.

Aiming to replace disposable stretch wrap in your kitchen, W&P launched a reusable option made from thin, stretchy silicone you can use to wrap sandwiches in, cover avocado halves and place over bowls. The reusable stretch wrap is safe to put in the freezer, microwave and dishwasher, and it’s oven-safe up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. You can purchase the stretch wrap in a set of three pieces, each of which is a different size: 7-by-8 inches, 10-by-11 inches and 13-by-14 inches.

Apple

Apple hosted its annual worldwide developers’ conference (WWDC) on June 5 and announced multiple new Mac products. We’ve highlighted two below.

Apple MacBook Air 15-Inch 2023

This new, larger MacBook Air comes with a 15.3-inch screen and Apple’s M2 chip inside, giving it improved performance and battery life, according to the brand. It is 3.3 pounds and a little under half an inch thick, which is lighter and thinner than most other 15-inch laptops. It comes with either 256GB or 512GB of storage and is available in four colors: midnight, starlight, space gray and silver.

Apple Mac Pro 2023

The last time that the Mac Pro was updated was in 2019, back when all of Apple’s products were still using Intel chips. This new Mac Pro is Apple’s most powerful (and most expensive) computer, with the brand’s most advanced tech inside. It has twice the amount of ports as the 2019 version, updated wireless connectivity and more options to install upgrades inside the unit.

Brightland — one of our favorite AAPI-owned brands — added a red wine vinegar to its collection of pantry staples. The Trellis vinegar was created in partnership with Lindera Farms in Virginia and it’s made with Muscadine, Norton and Concord grapes, giving it an oaky, smokey flavor. You can purchase the vinegar in 200ml bottles.

HyperX’s newest launch is the successor to one of our favorite gaming headsets, the Cloud II. These wired gaming headphones, the Cloud III, are compatible with almost any gaming system thanks to the included 3.5mm, USB-A and USB-C connectors — just plug them in and play. It has re-engineered 53mm angled drivers and extra memory foam padding in the headband compared to the original, according to the brand.

Cookware brand Great Jones and home improvement brand Character collaborated to launch The Pegboard Set so at-home chefs can hang their favorite cooking tools and maximize kitchen wall space. The set comes with one 20-by-20-inch pegboard and its modular design allows you to hang multiple pegboards next to one another. The set also includes installation hardware, hanging hooks, magnets and a digital installation guide. You can buy the pegboard in five colors: Mustard, Blueberry, Broccoli, Taffy and Cauliflower.

Logitech keyboards and mice

Logitech, makers of some of our favorite keyboards, gaming mice and ergonomic mice, launched updated versions of some of its most popular products.

Logitech MX Keys S

This is the new version of Logitech’s best-selling MX Keys Advanced keyboard. It uses the brand’s new wireless dongle and has a bunch of new software customization options

Select commerce analytics manager Amanda Smith has been using this model for about two weeks, and says it is a great keyboard with an excellent type feel. It is easy to set up, isn’t too loud in the office and has both PC and Mac legends on the keys, making it inclusive for both platforms, says Smith.

Logitech MX Anywhere 3s

Select reporter Harry Rabinowitz uses the original version of this mouse at work and has been trying this updated model for the past few weeks. Improvements include nearly silent clicks, a new sensor with double the DPI and a larger amount of post-consumer recycled plastic in the build.

AAPI-owned brand Bokksu and Sanrio, the creator of Hello Kitty, teamed up to launch bi-monthly snack boxes themed around a different group of Hello Kitty and Friends characters. Boxes include a variety of Japanese snacks and teas Bokksu curates, plus limited-edition Hello Kitty merchandise and an activity book.

The Okinawa Beach Party Snack Box is the second snack box part of this collaboration. It comes with an insulated cooler bag and treats like chocolate, potato chips, mochi, watermelon gummies and more. Bokksu sent Select Hello Kitty snack boxes to try and our staff loved opening all the different foods and trying them together. We learned about the flavors and ingredients in each snack — it was a great group activity and Bokku’s boxes make a unique gift for any foodie.

Dyson’s latest cordless vacuum is built with a smaller, faster, more powerful and longer-lasting motor compared to its predecessors, according to the brand.

One big change from previous generations is the on-off power button on the back of the appliance. Previous generations had a trigger switch you had to keep held down to supply power, which could get tiring, says Rabinowitz, who owns the Dyson Cyclone V10 Animal.

Another new addition included with this vacuum is Dyson’s new Fluffy Optic cleaner head, which has increased headlight brightness so you can see more tiny dust and dirt particles, says the brand.

Like Dyson’s previous V15 Detect models, the Gen5detect has whole machine HEPA filtration and an LCD screen that displays data about dust and dirt particles the vacuum’s sensor detects while you’re cleaning. It also shows you how much of the 70-minute battery you have left.

In addition to the Gen5detect vacuum, Dyson recently announced a handful of upcoming launches that will be available to purchase later this year, including its first-ever wet vacuum cleaner and a new robot vacuum. We’ll keep you updated as we learn more.
