Old Cowtown Museum, educating visitors about late 19th-century life in the city, and the Wichita Art Museum are less than a mile away.

Downtown Wichita is a 10-minute drive, as is the city’s airport. Topeka, the state capital, is a little more than a two-hour drive; Oklahoma City is less than three hours away.

Size: 2,436 square feet

Price per square foot: $143

Indoors: The house has a classic Greek Revival facade with large Corinthian columns and steps leading up to a covered porch. The sellers have made a number of updates to the house in recent years, including installing new gutters, new air-conditioning and a smart thermostat.

The front door opens into a living room with a white-painted brick fireplace and original hardwood floors that continue into a dining room with a modern pendant light fixture. This space is open to a kitchen with wood cabinets, a breakfast bar and access to a patio and the backyard. A powder room is also in this part of the house.

A staircase in the living room leads to the four bedrooms on the second floor. The primary bedroom, at the back of this floor, is big enough to hold a king-size bed and has an en suite bathroom with a soaking tub and separate shower. Another bedroom is across the hall, and two smaller guest rooms are closer to the stairs. All three share a full bathroom off the hallway. A second-floor balcony offers a sweeping view of the neighborhood.

The basement and attic are unfinished and used for storage, and the basement has a separate exterior entrance.

Outdoor space: The deck behind the house has enough space for grilling and dining. It steps down to a backyard landscaped with artificial grass. A mature tree at the center of the yard is sturdy enough to hold a swing. The detached garage holds four cars, and there is room for more parking in the recently paved driveway.

Size: 1,589 square feet

Price per square foot: $217

Indoors: A low stone wall separates the front yard from the street. The house is set back on the lot, with steps leading up to a covered porch big enough to hold chairs or a swing.

The front door opens into an entryway with a wide staircase separating the two front rooms: a sitting room on the left and a family room on the right. The hardwood floors in this part of the house are original.

The family room steps up to a dining room with new floors and easy access to an updated kitchen with new stainless steel appliances and stone counters. (During the recent renovation, a new electrical system and new insulation were also installed.) A hallway off the kitchen leads to a full bathroom and a mudroom with a stacked washer and dryer.

All three bedrooms are upstairs. The primary suite, off the right side of the landing, has backyard-facing windows; a large, carpeted walk-in closet with built-in shelves; and a bathroom with a new vanity and a combined tub and shower. Another full bathroom is directly across from the primary suite. Two guest rooms are at the opposite end of the hallway; one is currently used as a nursery, and the other functions as a combined home office and bedroom.

Outdoor space: The backyard, which is enclosed by a new wood-and-wire fence, has raised garden boxes with herb and vegetable plants, as well as a wood deck with room for a dining table and a grill. The house is surrounded by mature trees, recently pruned and stabilized by the sellers. The driveway holds two cars.

The French Quarter is a lively neighborhood, and this condominium is within a few blocks of the nightlife of Bourbon Street and the vintage clothing and antiques stores along Royal Street. The nine-unit building, which has a mix of full- and part-time residents, is also a short distance from Washington Square Park and Jackson Square, a National Historic Landmark and one of the city’s most instantly recognizable spots.

The New Orleans Jazz Museum is in a former mint building less than half a mile away. The National WWII Museum is under two miles away, as are the city’s cruise ship terminals. Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport is a half-hour drive.

Size: 604 square feet

Price per square foot: $579

Indoors: From the street, a gate opens to allow entry through a courtyard. This unit faces the back of the building, making it relatively quiet despite its proximity to some of the city’s busiest streets.

The front door opens into a combined living room and kitchen with exposed-brick walls, high ceilings trimmed with wood molding, a decorative fireplace with a carved wood mantel and a ceiling fan. A sitting area along one side of the space is furnished with a sofa, a coffee table and an upholstered armchair that are included in the sale.

The tile flooring continues across the room, into the kitchen, which has stainless steel appliances and white cabinetry.

Two tall doorways with shutter-style doors flank the fireplace. The one on the left leads to a bedroom with more exposed-brick walls, another decorative fireplace and room for a queen-size bed and a night stand; the one on the right, to a bathroom with a combined shower and tub.

Outdoor space: The shared courtyard is paved with brick and has a swimming pool at the center, surrounded by space for lounging and sunbathing. The building also has a communal laundry room.
