The trial of 20 men accused of involvement in 2015 wave of terrorist attacks in Paris that killed 130 and left hundreds more injured has opened in the French capital’s historic law courts.

At 13.17 on Wednesday judge Jean-Louis Périès said: “the criminal hearing is open”, launching a marathon legal process that is scheduled to last nine months.
