As the novel coronavirus spreads across the country and around the globe, businesses are closing, events are being canceled, and many of us are taking refuge in our homes. For most of us, staying home as much as possible is the right thing to do, but that doesn’t make it any easier. This week, we’ve run guides on how to make staying at home more comfortable, and how to keep everything in your home clean and disinfected. (That doesn’t include stockpiling dehydrated meals.)
We’ve selected some of our favorite deals from around the web that will make sheltering in place a little more pleasant. But we also want to encourage our readers to donate to local aid organizations, support local businesses that may have had to close, and consider bundling purchases whenever possible to minimize risk to the delivery workers on the front lines. Stay safe, everyone.

Movie and Game Deals
-
Chernobyl (Blu-ray) for $10 ($20 off): Last year, we said this bleak, riveting HBO series showed us that things could be worse. Haha! Shows what we know.
-
Planet Earth II + Blue Planet II on 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray for $20 ($14 off): Is there anything more soothing than watching Earth’s serene landscapes in slow motion? Oh, wait. Darn it.
-
Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order – Xbox One – for $40 ($20 off): This Star Wars game didn’t win points for thinking outside the box, but in our review we said it’s elegant in its approach. It’s one of the best Star Wars games ever made.
-
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare – PC – for $39 ($21 off): We called this reboot an homage to the best Call of Duty game. It’s also on sale for PS4.
-
The Sims 4 for $5 ($35 off): WIRED writer Louryn Strampe attempted to encapsulate her love for The Sims in a single sentence, but failed miserably. Suffice to say, now is a good time to practice social distancing by living out your dreams, adopting six dogs, and hanging out in a million-simoleon mansion. She also recommends Seasons as the best expansion pack.
-
Google Stadia Premiere Edition for $99 ($30 off): Google’s game streaming service allows you to play AAA games on various devices without the need for a bulky console, and it’s on sale for the first time. In this edition, you get three months of Stadia Pro (which lets you play in 4K/60 FPS); a Stadia Controller; and a Google Chromecast Ultra. The service costs $10 a month after that. The technology has a lot of kinks and limited games and features, but as WIRED writer Jess Grey said in her review, “it’s getting there.”
