A SALES engineer who scooped the biggest-ever Lottery win has revealed how two days ago he was queuing at Screwfix – and now can pay someone to do it for him.

Joe Thwaite, 49, and wife Jess, 44, scooped £184million on the EuroMillions last week.

He revealed the couple are still deciding how to spend the life-changing sum of money.

Joe explained they will go on holiday and enjoy time with their family as they grapple to come to terms with becoming one of the UK’s richest families overnight.

He said: “Two days ago I was standing in the queue at Screwfix thinking about this – and one thing I thought was ‘I’m probably not going to be doing this again’ because I’ll get someone else to fix the problems that I’ve got rather than me.

“I think we’ve got to take our time – but holidays and time with the family.

“When you’re trying to pay for everything in life, your time is used to earn the money.

“Now we can concentrate on using that time with the family.”

Sales engineer Joe and Jess, runs a hair salon with her sister, went public with the incredible win yesterday.

He told how he thought he “better buy a ticket” as the jackpot was so high and woke the next day to an email from the National Lottery saying: “Good news, you’ve won a prize.”

Joe also revealed he was so dumbstruck he didn’t even wake his wife up to tell her the amazing news.

He added: “I saw how much and I didn’t know what to do.

“I couldn’t go back to sleep, I didn’t want to wake Jess up, so I just laid there for what seemed like forever. I spent some time searching for property with no budget limit, which was a novelty.”

He finally told Jess he had a “secret” when she got up – but she also didn’t believe the massive win at first.

She said: “The win gives us time to dream which we haven’t had before.

“We’ve had one week to think about this and we now have time to share lots of experiences and go on adventures with our family and friends.”
