I am a huge fan of Cotopaxi. This bag and apparel manufacturer’s motto is “Do Good,” and it seems to be doing a lot better at that than most. One percent of its profits go towards grants and nonprofits in six focus countries to address poverty and community development. Cotopaxi’s Del Día collection is made using leftover scraps from other companies’ production runs. Each worker gets to choose and put together one-of-a-kind bags that are eye-catching, and most importantly, incredibly versatile, durable, and light.

The Tarak Del Día is one of my favorite light, fast backpacks that can be customized for a hike or a quick trip into the city, by either adding or removing a foam frame sheet, compression straps, or hip belt. But if you can wait until Cyber Monday, Cotopaxi will throw a Luzon Del Día in with the purchase of its Fuego down jackets and vests, which will also be 30 percent off. (Sizes are very limited right now, but I also love the Libre sweater, which keeps my arms warm but has a breathable back panel for hiking. skiing, or biking in the cold.)

Solgaard Luggage Is Partially Made From Ocean Plastic and Bottles ($220, $55 off)

Solgaard Store

We liked Solgaard’s hard-shell suitcase so much that it’s featured in not only our Best Upcycled and Recycled Products guide, we also put it in our Best Carry-Ons guide. WIRED reviewer Louryn Strampe loves how easy it is to organize, with an interior clip-in closet that’s collapsible and removable. It’s a tiny bit bigger than your average carry-in, but Strampe has found that it’s been accepted by 95 of the airlines that she travels on.

The part that we like? The interior lining is made from five pounds of recycled plastic that has been pulled by the ocean. The company has also partnered with Plastic Bank, a nonprofit whose mission is to empower local communities to pull plastic from the ocean and recycle it for their own use. The products are also free from any single-use plastics.
